The prestigious Vale do Lobo Resort in the Algarve is preparing to unveil the initial stage of its Vale Real living space initiative, featuring 44 homes. The expansive project envisions a total of 227 residences spread across four stages, backed by an investment of over €200 million. Completion is anticipated within six years.
Alda Filipe, regional director at leading Iberian firm Kronos Homes, now a resort partner, shared with Expresso that this development marks a significant revival for Vale do Lobo’s property market, which hasn’t seen residential innovation in two decades.
Reports show that a later phase promises 110 more homes near the tennis academy in the Vale de Santo António area.
Filipe added that land sales to individual buyers for custom villa builds have reached €100 million since 2023. “British and Portuguese buyers are the core clientele,” she stated, with 30% of sales from existing Vale do Lobo investors.
Established in 1963 by Sander van Gelder, Vale do Lobo stands as Portugal’s pioneering luxury destination. Today, it houses 1,500 residences, with further expansion planned to include 300 more homes.
